Today, Google has started issuing invitations to Google One subscribers for a chance to try the new chatbot. Google, eager to compete in the emerging industry, has now opened Bard to users. Amid the unbridled popularity of ChatGPT, several companies have started pushing their own language models out the gate. The race for artificial intelligence is a hot trail. Before its expulsion, CamScanner had accumulated more than 100 million downloads from the official store. Since Kaspersky’s report, Google has already removed the app from the Play Store. It’s better to uninstall the app completely. Regardless, the app itself is already a risk.

If you have the app in your library, you can get the infection only if you opened the app after recently updating it to the latest version. Notably, the developer originates from China, casting additional doubt on the malware’s origin. The library contained a Trojan dropper, allowing malicious parties illegal access to infected devices. Sometime during its lifespan, CamScanner secretly unloaded a malicious advertising library for its displayed ads. To earn money, it displays ads for its free version. Normally, the app operates just like any other scanner and file management app. A popular variant, CamScanner is apparently infecting devices with malware, based on a Kaspersky Lab report. Unfortunately, one of these apps is doing more than just waiting. Now, these apps just exist on our smartphones, waiting for the next document to scan.

Because of this exact situation, scanner apps have grown in popularity. Pressed for time, we’ve all submitted camera shots of our documents instead of getting a proper scanned version. Vastly improving smartphone cameras have unsurprisingly eliminated the need for scanners.
